Now that I've done several book reviews, some sponsored and some not, I've been reading reviews others have done. Suddenly I realised that some reviews are more detailed than mine. Then I thought that maybe I wasn't doing them properly. Some reviews were so thorough that I wouldn't need to read the book anyway - I already knew the whole story.
I don't do reviews to give away the story. The information I provide in a review is what I would want to know about the book before picking it up. Basically, the reason why I would read a review is to find out if a book is worth my time. I want to know the basic premise of the story (not detailed plot descriptions), if it is "clean" (free from graphic violence, immorality, and bad language), and why/if the person doing the review liked the book.
